The incident unfolded at Chandrawati School in Nuh’s Tauru district during the administration of the Class 10 Hindi examination by the Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH). Reports emerged of individuals scaling the walls of the school premises with the intent of passing cheat sheets to students who were sitting for the exam. These acts were captured in videos that quickly circulated on various social media platforms, showcasing people hurling cheat sheets into the examination center while the supervising authorities appeared to be inactive bystanders.
In response to the alarming situation, the Haryana board took decisive action, promptly canceling the Class 12 Hindi examination scheduled at the Bhawad exam center in Sonepat. The decision to cancel exams at both the Tauru school and Bhawad exam center was attributed to the pervasive cheating activities observed.
Board chairman VP Yadav issued statements confirming the cancellation of the Hindi exams for classes 10 and 12, citing rampant cheating as the primary reason. Additionally, measures were taken to address the situation, with law enforcement authorities apprehending both students and teachers involved in the cheating scandal. Yadav also assured the public that comprehensive measures were being implemented to uphold transparency and integrity within exam centers.
Furthermore, a specialized squad formed by the Haryana board proactively investigated instances of cheating during the Class 10 English examination. The squad identified and arrested several individuals who were found aiding students by passing cheat sheets inside the examination hall. It was revealed that the English question paper had been leaked from the Pinangwan exam center in Nuh, further highlighting the severity of the breach in exam security protocols.exam cheating
Consequently, English examinations at various centers, including Kendriya Bal Vidya High School in Jhajjar and a government school in Chetra, Sonepat, were subsequently canceled due to concerns regarding the integrity of the examination process.
The prevalence of cheating incidents, particularly in rural areas such as Nuh and Sonepat, underscored the challenges faced in maintaining the sanctity of examinations. Authorities acknowledged the need for stringent enforcement measures and vowed to address the issue effectively. Actions taken included booking individuals involved in cheating under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and confiscating vehicles used in facilitating cheating activities.
Looking ahead, authorities emphasized the importance of implementing comprehensive strategies to prevent similar incidents in future examinations. This included collaborating with law enforcement agencies, enhancing supervision measures, and holding accountable any officials found negligent in their duties. Nuh District Education Officer (DEO) Paramjeet Chahal reiterated the commitment to maintaining exam integrity and pledged to take decisive action against any wrongdoing.exam cheating
