Building on the success of the inaugural show in 2023 which was flagged off by President Droupadi Murmu, the event in its latest avatar promises to be bigger in scale and scope. Over 2,500 exhibitors and more than 350 foreign buyers have already confirmed their attendance.

In his inaugural address, Vice President Dhankhar said that he is confident that the state is on the right track after touring the business exhibition where the тАЬbest minds and master artisans have showcased their productsтАЭ. He applauded CM Yogi Adityanath for тАЬhis 24X7 watchdog governance that vastly improved the law and order situation in IndiaтАЩs most populous state turning it into an asset which makes a substantial contribution to the countryтАЩs GDPтАЭ.

Appreciating the complete turnaround of the state under the able leadership of CM Adityanath, Vice President Dhankhar said that the stateтАЩs ambition of reaching a $1 trillion economy by 2027 is a real possibility. UP will be a key partner in propelling India to a $5 trillion economy, he said.

тАЬPrime Minister Modi believes in a plateau-kind growth where all sections of society rise together and UP is also aligned with that vision. As this century rightly belongs to Bharat, we will at the same time also witness a new dawn in Uttar Pradesh,тАЭ he said.

The five-day trade show will provide a platform for businesses of all sizes тАУ small, medium and large тАУ to showcase their offerings and forge contacts with domestic and international buyers, marketers and decision makers in one spot.

Usually acknowledged as the most populous Indian state, UP CM Adityanath emphasised that Uttar Pradesh also has the distinction of being home to the largest base of micro, small and medium enterprises in India. Every region boasts of unique, traditional products which were revived by the Yogi Adityanath administration through incentives, promotion and marketing. This strategy – called the One District One Product (ODOP) programme – was later adopted nationwide.

The Chief Minister also highlighted proactive measures taken by his government during the Covid-19 pandemic to quickly absorb the returning labour force into livelihood generating programmes. The migrant workers were skill mapped and offered work in related MSME units, helping to boost the state economy. тАЬDue to this, UP is speeding to a $1 trillion economy. It is a growth engine, and not a growth barrier like it was known as before,тАЭ CM Adityanath said.

The nomenclature тАШmicro, small and mediumтАЩ does not befit the MSME industry which is a big engine of growth. Speaking at the event, Union MSME minister Manjhi said that small enterprises hold up the economy and are massive job generators. He welcomed the state and Central governmentтАЩs prioritsation of the MSME sector.

Uttar Pradesh ranks second in the ease of doing business among Indian states. Relentless efforts by the CM Yogi Adityanath led administration transformed UP into a business-friendly destination in a matter of seven years. Policy reforms, government incentives and support as well as stable governance have helped the state emerge as one of the leading investment hotspots in the country.

Meanwhile, a key industrial meeting was held on the first day of the trade show between Invest UP CEO Abhishek Prakash and a delegation from the Herald media group, South Korea, seeking opportunities for business in Uttar Pradesh. The Herald Media Group, a renowned South Korean conglomerate established in 1953, has been a pioneer inmedia, education, and lifestyle sectors. The delegation included Hong Kil-Yong, Director of Innovation and Strategy Dept; Allim Kim, Team Leader, Herald Forum Secretariat, Culture and Environment team; Dr Sanjay Kumar, Staff Reporter, National Desk.

It is worth mentioning that recently, the India Expo Centre also played host to the annual premier semiconductor industry event тАУ SEMICON India 2024 тАУ which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and saw global CEOs converge at the same venue and endorse IndiaтАЩs crucial role in the semiconductor supply chain.

The trade show will be held from 25th to 29th September at India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, from 11am to 8 pm.
