Today, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has weather forecasted rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning across East and Central India on March 16. Additionally, they predict above-normal maximum temperatures in various South Indian states over the next 3-4 days. Hot and humid conditions are expected to prevail in specific regions of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and Rayalaseema during the specified time frame.

The IMD anticipates scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with isolated thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds in Gangetic West Bengal from March 16 to 20. Furthermore, isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds is expected in Jharkhand, Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, and East Madhya Pradesh during the same period.

There is an isolated hailstorm alert for Vidarbha on March 17 and 18, as well as East Madhya Pradesh on March 18 and 19. Isolated light rainfall has been forecasted over Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam from March 16 to 20. In North East India, isolated to scattered light rainfall is expected over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura until March 21.

Regarding snowfall predictions, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to impact the Western Himalayan Region from the night of March 20, resulting in isolated light rainfall or snowfall over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, GilgitBaltistan, Muzaffarabad on March 20 and 21, and over Himachal Pradesh on March 21. Dry weather has been forecasted in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand until March 20. Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall/snowfall is also expected over Arunachal Pradesh until March 21.

Moreover, maximum temperatures are expected to be appreciably above normal by 3-4°C in isolated pockets of South Vidarbha, Telangana, Rayalaseema, and Tamil Nadu, and above normal by 1-3°C over the rest of Peninsular India, and this pattern is likely to persist over the next 3-4 days.Weather
