Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has praised the Ri-Bhoi District Police for their outstanding performance in foiling a significant drug trafficking operation. Sangma commended the police force for their sharp intelligence and prompt action, which led to the seizure of heroin valued at ₹75 lakh and the arrest of a notorious interstate trafficker.
The success story continued with collaboration with the East Khasi Hills Police in Shillong, resulting in the capture of two more traffickers, along with ₹1 lakh in cash and a vehicle. Sangma emphasized the significance of such swift actions in thwarting the plans of drug suppliers.
He affirmed, “This rapid response disrupts the deceptive plans of drug traffickers, thwarting their harmful intentions. Applause to Dr L R Bishnoi, IPS, and his team. We are fully committed to persisting in our efforts against drugs and ensuring the safety of our communities,” highlighting the government’s unwavering commitment to combating drug trafficking in Meghalaya.
